John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people by his popular-folk hits Many of them were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Many people took the road to Colorado following the Denver's cult anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. In my journeys, you meet someone from the other side of the world one of New Zealand and you say "I'm originally from Colorado and the first word that comes out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a brief time in folk music groups included Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff originally wrote it to Johnny Cash's tune in mind, but Denver was aware from the very first time he heard earlier versions that it was going to be an instant hit. After performing the song on stage in Washington D.C. to a huge crowd, the singer released the song a couple of days afterward.
